**Overview**
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting and long term care cost report reimbursement and a passion for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This role is responsible for preparing financial statements, performing financial analysis, and providing support to various accounting functions. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the accounting team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
**Responsibilities**
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct financial statement preparation and review
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and ensure accuracy
- Analyze financial data and create forecasts for future financial performance
- Provide support to the accounting team, including preparing journal entries and accruals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounts
- Prepare and review financial reports, including budget reports and financial dashboards
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Assist with the preparation of Medicare and Medicaid skilled nursing facility cost reports
- Perform financial accounting and governmental accounting tasks as needed
**Skills**
- Strong background in financial accounting and Medicare and Medicaid cost reimbursement
- Experience with financial statement preparation and balance sheet reconciliation
- Excellent financial acumen and analytical skills
- Ability to prepare financial reports and forecasts
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience working as a clerk or in a similar accounting role
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Additional compensation available for a CPA
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
